When to pause the reflection and seek appropriate care
Legs Guide is for calm reflection on ordinary-life changes. It is not a way to work out whether a symptom is safe, diagnose a condition or replace professional assessment.
The general boundary
If anything feels sharp, escalating, radiating, neurological, breathing-related, post-operative, traumatic, or otherwise unexplained, stop and seek appropriate professional care.
Legs-specific reasons to seek assessment
New one-sided swelling, heat, colour change, numbness, weakness or rapid worsening needs appropriate assessment.
This is not a complete list. If you feel acutely unwell, unsafe, or seriously concerned, use appropriate urgent or emergency care in your area.
What this guide will not ask you to do
Do not use this site to press, test, massage, manipulate or try to identify an area in your leg. Do not force a walk, stretch, stair route, uneven surface or movement in order to see what happens. Do not use a personal observation on this site as a reason to delay seeking care.
When ordinary reflection may still help
If there is no urgent concern and you are simply noticing that walking, standing, travelling, footwear, pace or confidence has changed, you can use the guide to describe the ordinary-life effect and prepare a sensible next question.
