Reflection prompts for legs and ordinary life
These are voluntary prompts, not self-tests. They are not designed to identify a cause, prove a physical mechanism or score you.
What these are not
Nothing on this page asks you to press, palpate, grasp, massage, stretch or manipulate any part of your leg, or to walk, climb or move in a particular way to see what happens. There is no test to pass and no result to reach. These are questions for putting your own experience into words.
Start with the day
- What has become harder, easier, shorter, slower or more planned about an ordinary day on your feet?
- When do you notice your legs most: first thing, after sitting, during standing, late in the day, on a journey, or somewhere else?
- What words fit the experience best — heavy, cold, tired, restless, uncertain, restricted, different — without needing to decide why?

Walking and participation
- Has walking changed what you choose to do, how far you go, or whether you agree to an ordinary plan?
- Is there a route, journey, queue, set of stairs, drive, errand or activity you now think about differently?
- What would you like to have more room to say yes to if your legs felt more available?

Context without assumed cause
- What seems to influence the day: footwear, standing time, travel, routine, rest, work pattern, heat, cold or something else?
- Can you notice that influence without assuming it explains the whole picture?

Grounding prompt
Before trying to solve it, what is the clearest thing you have actually noticed?

Safety reminder
If anything feels sharp, escalating, radiating, neurological, breathing-related, post-operative, traumatic or otherwise unexplained, stop and seek appropriate professional care.
New one-sided swelling, heat, colour change, numbness, weakness or rapid worsening needs appropriate assessment.
